Brown Sugar Abs: Boot Camp
I think we all can agree that crunches and sit-ups are evil. I personally avoid them all together because I despite exercising in general, and there isn't always a place to just lie down and get going. But, the only way to get that tummy toned is to suck it up and do what you gotta do. So to kick off my goal of getting at least a 4-pack this summer, I've compiled two lists. The first one is Ab Boot Camp, which includes a sample exercise routine. The second list includes four unconventional ways to tone your abs without hitting the gym or the floor.
Boot Camp:
all exercises below should be done at least 3 days a week for the quickest results. Summer is right around the corner...
Technique 1: Lay on your back and raise your legs vertically. Slightly lift your hips in the air and hold for 5-10 seconds. Do 5 sets of 15.
Technique 2: Lay on your back on a flat surface with your hands behind your head. Contract your abs. Hold for 2 seconds, then return to the starting position. Do 5 sets of 15.
Technique 3: Lay on your back and put your feet on a chair. Lift your upper back off of the ground and contract your abdominal part. Do 5 sets of 15.
Technique 4: Lay on your back with your arms at your sides. Move your legs as if you are bicycling. Continue for 3-5 minutes daily.
Technique 5: My ten-year old son helps me with this one. Lay on your back with your toes pointed up and arms to the side. Have your helper stand at your feet. Lift both legs slightly off of the floor and have your helper basically throw them towards you; you should allow your legs to go back and forth in hair like a see-saw, with your helper pushing legs back towards you. There should not be a pause in between the swings. This is highly effective for your lower abs. Do 3 sets of 15.
Maintain your Brown Sugar Abs in Five Easy Ways:
Tighten Your Abs at All Times: You can do this when walking, sitting, and lifting. I do it all the time, just pull in and contract your abs and hold it as long as you can throughout the day. You can do it at your desk, while watching television, cleaning, etch. This is the sweat-less way of getting some work in...
Buy a Hoola Hoop: Seriously. My gorgeous Mommy gave me this tip. It's a fun, and sexxy way, to tone your tummy without realizing that your exercising.
Muscle Clenches: Clench your ab muscles for several seconds, then release. Repeat again in sets of 10-15. can be done anywhere, even in the car!
Easy on the Sugar: Not a diet, but just be careful of your sugar intake. Soda is a silent killer with this one. Lotsa sugar content, that goes straight to the gut for vacation. Drink more water and be careful of what you're eating, or these exercises will do no good at all.
No 40 oz or Kegs: Yea, so at this point the only six-pack you should be carrying around is the one attached to your body. Beer is horrible for your gut and will make it harder for you to tone up. Don't jeopardize all of your hard work on a bad habit. You don't have to give up beer all together, but drink in moderation. Unless you wanna return to boot camp =(
