Aaliyah's "Behind The Music" Updated and New Album on the Way?

My. Favorite. Singer. Of. All. Time. Aaliyah, the original triple threat, has been gone since 2001 but her music, movies, and spirit lives on. Anxious fans are still waiting for her biographical movie to be released, but here's the good news:. VH1 has decided to update her original Behind the Music episode with all-new footage! Be sure to tune in to VH1 tonight at 9pm ET. Keep reading for a slideshow honoring the angel...

According to music producer Jeffrey "J.Dub" Walker, who previously worked with Aaliyah, a new album is on the way. Here's what Walker tweeted last Sunday:
"Just got great news today; the smash unreleased song called "Steady Ground" I produced on #Aaliyah is gonna be on her upcoming album:)".
No release date available yet, BUT I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!

Beyonce has done an excellent job of keeping her private life, PRIVATE, just as it should be. Well, she has decided to let her fans in on her life as Beyonce the woman, not the entertainer. The icon has not been very consumed in social media, but has finally made her first tweet today despite having an account for over a year ago with over 3.5 million followers:
She also opened a tumblr account that displays many of her personal photos of her pregnancy, travels over the years, marriage, and other random snaps. Here are some of my favorites:

Following the rumors that he cheated on Amber Rose with Kim Kardashian, Kanye makes a shocking confession on his new track, "Theraflu." According to Miss Info, the track will appear on Kanye's upcoming album and here are the lines:
Whoa There! I guess the rumors were really the truth.com afterall. I wouldn't have seen these two as a couple, but to each its own. This would make for a juicy reality show! (jus sayin) And I love how Kanye threw some major shade to Kim's baller ex, Kris Humphries implying that he should be thankful that Jay-Z, NJ Nets owner, spared his job! Kim tossed the ex up and Kanye with the alley-oop...
I spell beef and maybe Kris Humphries should consider a vegan diet...

Jay-Z Featured in First Rocawear Commercial: "Marcy to Barclays"

This is my number one FAVORITE Jay-Z line and I recite it constantly to stay on my toes. Jay-Z has come a long way and whether you like him or not, you have to respect his hustle. And pssst, he was one of the very few rappers that Oprah decided to interview and for good reason. Jay-Z's clothing line, Rocawear, has featured him in their first televised commercial and highlights Jay-Z's rise from a drug dealer in New York's Marcy Projects to a unbelievable successful business, man and Forbes BFF. The 30-second commercial debuted on Jay-Z's website, Life+Times yesterday and a special 90-second version of the commercial will air during BET's 106 and Park tonight. Here's a clip:

Bobbi Kris lands Tyler Perry Role

After rumors have been flying for about a week now, Tyler Perry just confirmed that the only daughter of Whitney Houston has landed a role on his hit TBS sitcom "For Better or Worse." There are no details about Bobbi Kris' role yet, but check back for updates. I guess Bobbi Kris was serious when she said she was going to pursue an entertainment career, just didn't expect it to happen so soon....

Sprinkle or Fail: Brandy's New Look

Songbird Brandy readying for her sixth studio album set to be released this June. The Moesha star has reinvented her image and sound describing her new summer album as a mix between R&B, Pop, and Hip Hop. In an interview with YRB Magazine, Brandy explained the album title Two Eleven:
So the title represents her birth date and her icon's passing date.... we all know that Whitney Houston was very close to Brandy and I thinks its BEYOND ironic that she died on Brandy's birthday...then to hear Brandy speak of Rebirth and Reincarnation ...my conspiracy mind is buggin out, but let's stay focused on the new look......
Brandy is clearly going from America's Princess to an edgier, bolder image and I have to say...I'm feelin it! It's different and will take a lot of getting used too since we all have our squeaky clean images of Brandy, but the 33 year-old singer looks phenomenal with the short hairdo; I think it brings out her features much better, but I'd like to see classier and subtly fashionable attire mirroring Halle Berry. But this is a start...
My vote is slightly SPRINKLED!!!

Official Sparkle Trailer--starring Whitney Houston

I vividly remember my grandmother practically forcing me to watch the original Sparkle movie when I was about sixteen years old. To my surprise, the movie immediately caught my attention and became one of my all time favorite classic movies. I've been eagerly waiting for the release of the remake, that singer Aaliyah was supposed to headline before her death, and was super excited after watching this trailer. This is also Whitney's Houston's last movie and was appropriately coined as her epic comeback. The new Sparkle was directed by Salim Akil and written by Howard Rosenman and Mara Brock Akil (writer of "The Game" sitcom). Jordin Sparks plays the star, Sparkle Williams and Whitney Houston plays her mother. Excited!!!! Other members of the all-star cast include: Tika Sumpter, Mike Epps, Derek Luke and Cee-Lo Green. The movie is set to be released in August 2012. It'll be refreshing to see Ms. Houston grace the screen again...

Sprinkle or Fail: Rapper Trina's Makeover
The self-proclaimed and original "Bad Bit*$" is making a long-awaiting comeback and has been given a makeover by the stylist to the stars, June Ambrose. On the second episode of "Styled by June," Trina's style was revamped to meet her desire for a more mature image. But me no likey! This new look is not mature at all...a mohawk...really June....in 2012?? And the rock n' roll inspired clothes?? ABSOLUTELY NOT! I'm a huge Trina fan...her music is as real as it gets...raunchy...but honest, and I respect that. The look she showcased in 2011 (shown above) is my fav my far...the make-up, hair, dress--perfection. Trina is a veteran in the rap game and I think the above look is the best look for a comeback. Not the played out rock n' roll image---sorry June, but you get a big ol' F for this one...screaming FAIL at the top of my lungs!!! (the make-up is bearable though...)

Smokey!!! Friday Sequel with Chris Tucker and Mike Epps Confirmed!!!
I think I just got knocked the eff out with this news....According to TMZ, Ice Cube has finally confirmed that the ‘Friday’ franchise will be reincarnated. His goal is to bring back the entire ORIGINAL cast … including Chris Tucker---and Mike Epps too!! Still don't believe it? Well, here's a statement from a rep for Cube Vision Productions … “Absolutely yes the studio is in the process of getting the entire original cast to do another ‘Friday.’ Can we say "Cha-Ching!!!"$$$$$
Man!! I've been waiting on this sequel for a hot minute. The original was the best and Mike Epps brought life to the last two----but Smokey and Day Day---on the same screen?! I'm laughin' already! This movie is an automatic classic and guaranteed to have us rollin on the floor-----I'll keep ya'll posted on the release date....we might have to have a brown sugar get together for this one....
